The ideal studio microphone is one that gives you the widest frequency range possible when capturing sounds for your recordings. Expensive legacy-brand studio microphones (like those whose names start with N, M, or T) are very good at capturing the full tonal spectrum of most any voice or instrument, but their inflated price tags put them out of reach for most studio owners.
